Referrals Are The Easiest Way To Grow Your Business

In this weekly session of our calls from the 10X Business Owners Mastermind Group, we had a very entertaining talk from which we were able to learn a lot. Keep reading so you don’t miss every detail.

So this week’s main topic is very important and has been haunting our work for the last two weeks: referral systems.

For example, I have had several clients call me and tell me success stories about their acquaintances, make a call, reconnect with someone. They approached them and said: Hello, how can I help you? And all of a sudden, they got offers and opportunities that just fell into their laps. This is one of the most important strategies that you can use at any time to increase your business in any market. It really works.

 

How does the referral system work?

Especially if it’s the customer, I tell him and say: Hey, I’ll send you this referral form. It will say exactly who is a good recommendation, for me what industries I work with. And what I would do if I were you, in fact, I’ll send you the script word for word. This is a great way to get referrals.

Whenever you talk to someone trying to make an appointment. Always give them two days. Two times and location. Always give them one option too many. If you only give them one, they have a better chance of saying no.

The challenge with referrals is that too many people sit and wait for the referral to arrive. That is why they do not grow. And what I want you to know is that there is nothing wrong with reaching out to an existing customer and finding out if they can be a reference for you.

 

What did I learn from a book called Procrastinating on Purpose?

It’s from Rory Vaden, and where I got this idea is that he lives in Nashville. And he drove two or three times a day. And he goes, you know, what, he found someone that he could trust, you know, an assistant, a sister, a relative, etc. And he literally would just pick up the phone and call that person, listen, and drive during that time, effectively managing his time.

I mean, that assistant would answer the phone, she would read my email, I told her how to respond. If necessary, she would say drop it in this folder.

And for me, it was worth $ 10 an hour not to have to deal with it. So I’ve made a lot more money as a result of having to spend that time dealing with email. So that’s just a tip that I learned from Rory Vaden from that book and implemented it. And it worked very, very well. Very high productivity.

 

What happened to me days ago

It must have been four and a half years since I spoke to this old friend. We catch up, I tell her what I have done these years and she does the same.

And I say, hey, how can I help you? You know, I have a great network. How can I help you? She says I need someone to check my tik Tok.

Really? She says, I know he sounds crazy, buddy, but I seem to get a lot of attention for her business. Do you know anyone who knows tik tok?

Do you know what my answer was? It was unquestionably yes. Because that’s what references work for.

So I said, sure. Leave me, I have a couple of people. Yeah, I had no idea who the hell made Tik Tok at the time. But I’m sure I know a couple of people.

I send a couple of emails to three people I know. And sure enough, one of them knows someone who knows someone who knows someone who does Tik Tok, which is that they refer me to Steve Rice. He has a whole department that is dedicated to social media marketing. So my friend found someone who would take care of her Tik Tok, and I managed to connect two people.

 

Resume

Okay, if it’s a friend, a family relative, a colleague, the person you met at the grocery store, a former friend from high school, etc., they all have a network that they influence. And so with that being said, you can go out there and create as many referrals as you want.
