The Power Of Visualizing Your Goals

In this week’s 10X Business Owner’s Mastermind Group video call we met with wonderful people who wanted to learn and increase their knowledge and income. And the first issue we touch on it is precisely how we see our goals in the future.

Visualizing Your Goals

Speaking from my own experience, this week alone, I have probably received six or seven calls from clients, friends, relatives telling me that their business is not working for them. They’ve given me comments like: I’m at a turning point in my business in my life and I’m not having fun anymore.

And coincidentally, this week I had the opportunity to work in these kinds of situations. So I remembered a basic principle, when I settled in Steve’s non-proton office on May 17, 2015, I had managed to build a business, from zero to six figures in four and a half months, I had already sold several IT companies, and I was trapped. I mean, I could not in the life of my life exceed 80 $ 635 a month in the business that I had built. And I had 26 clients, half of them I didn’t like but I just wasn’t happy.

Yes, it is true, I was making good money, but I was not happy. And so I sat in Steve’s office hoping he would give me a bunch of solutions to my problems.

And instead of giving me solutions, it led me down a completely different path that I didn’t expect. What he did was draw a circle on a board.

And he said: Okay, this is your life. Okay, what kind of life do you want to live? So when do you wake up in the morning? How do you want to wake up? Where do you want to wake up? What kind of house do you want to wake up in? When do you go throughout your day? What kind of flexibility? Do you want to have? Do you know how much time you want with your children? Where do you want to travel? What do you want to do?

The idea was to focus on the life I wanted to have before going into business. And literally after an hour, it occurred to me, okay, I want to be able to trade wherever I want to be in the world. As long as you have an Internet or telephone connection. It doesn’t matter if I’m sitting on the beach in Hawaii or whatever, I want to be able to do my business wherever I want to do it. I don’t want limitations.

So we were very clear about the life he wanted to live and have. And then we design a business to achieve that goal.

And that was on May 17, 2015. It wasn’t until August 2017 that I really achieved those goals, I was sitting on a beach in Hawaii, at St. Regis in Princeville. I called two clients of mine. And it was like the culmination of my goals, it was a good closing.

What I have learned during my professional career

One of the most significant things that I have learned during my almost 31 years in the business is that you can make all the money you want, you can know with the right skill set, the right training, the right mentors, etc.

The important thing is to ask yourself if you are happy if have joy, and enjoy the fullness of your life.

The point is that if you have a business and you don’t wake up every morning excited about work, and you have to force yourself to close at the end of the day because you get excited about what you do and you don’t realize that you have to go home already. If that’s not where you are, then it’s time to pause, just step back and say: Okay, I have a business, I can turn around, and I can change my business. Anytime the way I want. Let yourself go back to the basic reason you started a business in the first place.

You can do it with a mentor, an advisor who can guide you, remember that you only have one life to live. At the end of the day, you are going to spend about a third or maybe as a business owner half of your life building your confidence.
