Continuing the conversations that we are having on the live call of The 10X Business Owner’s Mastermind Group this week, I want to talk to you about the second part about starting a business. As always, with technology expert Alan Reeves as a partner and co-host, and this time with my wife Alison Pyron who also moves like a fish in water when it comes to business.
So when starting a business, numerous issues must be taken into account, however, one of the most important is the different aspects of the service that are important for the small business owner to achieve the main objective, which is not having problems with the computer, and if you do have them, know how to fix them.
Alan Reeves, tells us that in his company he has 3 different plans to face these types of problems (without actually prompting you to buy their packages, what we want is that you know the plans that are designed for this problem).
Alan Reeves’ plans for tackling tech problems
The first and most important thing for Alan and his company, which they are always implementing is the backup of your computers since having a backup is necessary regardless of whether you have a large or small company. The second thing that Alan’s team offers is that all the computers that they configure have a button that connects to the equipment and lets them know that you are having a problem.
These solutions are part of a VIP plan that Alan’s company has, which also includes unlimited problem care on the site. That is, if your equipment has a breakdown, the technical team comes to the site and solves it at no cost. If it cannot be repaired on-site, the equipment is taken to a lab environment for approximately 30 minutes for repair.
What you need to understand is that once it’s set up, your computer is like a car. You have certain intervals when you need an oil change. You need to rotate the tires, perform the 15,000-mile service, the 20,000-mile service, etc. And if you don’t do that, you’re going to start having big problems that will cost you a lot of money with your car. And having the right provider that provides the right service is what will pay off.
Other recommendations
When your company has between one and ten employees. Most of the time, you don’t really need a server, you need to make calls from a service provider like Alan’s and have servers at once to reach 10 or more computers.
Thus, you want to be able to control everything centrally. Well, the last thing you need, especially if you live in California, is for one of your employees to cross the street, open a business, and take all your customer data with you. And guess what? Now, it happens all the time. But if you don’t have network security and controls in place, that’s where you need to make sure you have a good solid technology plan.
How to evaluate existing employees?
Many companies, when they get around, probably around the 250 $ 500,000 range, they start hiring their first second, or third employee. And what we’ve been able to see is that most business owners don’t have a great hiring process. Most business owners don’t properly evaluate people before they join the team, they start giving them a lot of work that doesn’t take advantage of their strengths, talents, or abilities. And ultimately, the employee ends up there for a paycheck. They are not maximizing their potential.
As a business owner I give you some advice, stop employing people who do not take advantage of your strengths. You should look for people who always reinforce your strengths and reduce your weaknesses.
